For
the sixth year running Sandpits Road
households will be holding a table top sale in their front gardens.
This year’s sale takes place
on Sunday 19th May 2018, from 10.30am to
2.30pm, and each stall is asked to make a donation to Demelza Hospice Care for Children who
will also be having a stall at the event.
We have developed the event
over a few years now and have a better understanding about what works more so. Bread,
jam, marmalade, plants and cakes go well every year and people return
specifically to buy the same items! Householders are welcome to sell whatever
they like, including nearly new items and bric-a-brac.
As usual we will be
advertising in local roads, Shirley library & shops and an advert in the
Spring Park Residents’ Association SPAN
magazine. We’re on Facebook and Twitter (“sandpitsroad” on both) and
connected to the Shirley Facebook Page.
We are cutting down on leafletting
local roads (a lot of work for small yield) but increasing our posters and
flyers and social media presence. We are trying to get sponsorship from
LB Croydon to help with the costs of advertising.
